Creative Portrait Shoot

The Nashville modeling agency, Ophelia Management (Insta: ophelia.mgmt) , reached out to me in regards to shooting with their model Gail Fabri (Insta: imjusta.gail). I brought in Mira Gonzales (Insta: themuamira) for makeup and we started planning the looks. I wanted to shoot her in three various settings around my studio that would be both simple and artistic. The first look we did, I took all of the plants around the studio and put them on various apple boxes and stools. I got a beige canvas backdrop and draped a gold tapestry to create texture. I love the pale yellow blazer she wore and how it compliments the greenery in the background.

For the second look, I wanted a classic look with a pop of color. I've had this pink blazer in my closet for years and wanted it to be the eye-catcher of this look. I put her in black for everything else and in front of this white corner so the pink would be contrasted well. Gail was incredible with posing and moved around the space with ease.

This third look was such a fun and new idea for me. I bought a miniature projector on Amazon and found some interesting photos from Pinterest use on it. The studio was made dark by closing the blinds and turning off the overhead lights so the only light was that of which was coming from the projector. This created a stronger projection on the white wall we were using. I absolutely love the final products and had so much fun with this new technique!

I loved this shoot and all of the photos that came from it.

Thank you to Gail, Mira, and Ophelia Management!
